Messi once again was exceptional for Barcelona as he scored a brace to knock the Blues out of the Champions League.

Conte was full of praise for the man that always makes a difference, as he walked up to meet Messi after the match.

The Barcelona all time top scorer has since responded to the praise and thanked the Chelsea manager, who is likely to move on when the season ends.

Thibaut Courtois explains why Lionel Messi found it easy to score through his legs

“I didn’t hear him, but they told me what he said and I thank him for his words,” Messi said.

“I am happy for how this night has ended and for reaching the quarter-finals, which is what we wanted.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner  first goal against Chelsea at Camp Nou was his quickest ever career goal at two minutes and eight seconds, making it his 100th goal in the European competition.

The Argentine Superstar was delighted with his latest achievement.

“I’m happy to have reached 100 goals in such a beautiful competition,” he added.

“But the important thing was to move forward in a difficult match against a team with lots of really good players.

“I’m happy with how it all happened.

“This was a tough match and we were strong as a team.

“When we scored the third then the tie was practically ours.”
