The Portuguese international Rony Lopes would like to return to Manchester City in the future.

Lopes came through Manchester City youth academy before leaving Cityzens in 2015 in a £9million move to Monaco.

But his move to France did not go smoothly as he expected at first as Monaco loaned him to Lille, where he picked up his career, The 22-year-old has finally established himself as a first-team regular for the Ligue 1 Champions  this season and has revealed he would be happy to return to Manchester City one day.

Lopes has scored nine goals in 29 league appearances for Monaco this season, only Falcao with 17 league goals has scored more league goals for Monaco than the midfielder.

“I am very happy for Bernardo [Silva]. He is my friend and to see what he has been doing in recent matches with Manchester City, it is something that is very impressive,” Lopes told RMC, via Get French Football.

“A return to City? Sure I would like to go back, but I am focused on Monaco. I’m fine here.

“I’m very happy for him and I hope he’ll continue to do beautiful things there.”

Pep Guardiola is expected to strengthen his attacking options in the summer.
