Roberto Firmino believes that Liverpool fears no side in the Champions League and he would be happy for a quarterfinal tie against an English Premier League side.

Liverpool qualified for the next round of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night with a draw against Fc Porto after initially beating them 5-0 in the first leg at the Estadio Do Dragao, thanks to Sadio Mane hat trick and goals from Firmino and Salah.

Jurgen Klopp made it clear that his side are already looking forward to the quarter finals and progressing to the semi finals their target, Firmino is adamant that Liverpool players fear no-one.

“Yes, we’d like a draw against an English club,” Firmino said.

The Brazilian continued: “Why not? We have shown in the past few seasons we can beat all the English clubs. Our record is good against them.

“We feel we have played well against the top English club. We are not afraid of anyone in the draw.

“We are not concerned who we get, we don’t mind. A top Spanish club? We are not afraid. I don’t think we have anything to fear from any side now.

“If you are in the draw then you cannot be afraid of anyone. We feel we can beat any side on our day. I think we are a team who will cause problems to others.”

Ever since Jurgen Klopp took over as the manager of Liverpool, the club has an outstanding record of beating the Premier League big boys, and they showed against Porto that they are capable of beating any top team.

Firmino continue by saying: “We are a good team, we can play against the big Spanish teams and we feel we can be a match for them. You have to play against the big teams.”

The draw for the quarterfinals will take place live at UEFA’s HQ in Switzerland on Friday 16 March at 11 am GMT.
