Arsenal legend and all time highest goal scorer Thierry Henry has today praise Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, following his strong performances for the Reds so far this season.
The African footballer of the year award winner made his return to the Premier League during the summer after a brief spell in Italy playing for Fiorentina and AS Roma, Chelsea announced the signing of Salah on 26 January 2014, making him the first Egyptian to play for the London club, he only made 13 league appearances for the blues during his 12 months with the club.
Ever since joining Liverpool in the summer the speedster didn’t take time to settle back into the rigours and physicality of English Football, having scored incredible 31 goals for the reds in all competition so far this season, making himself a cult hero and fans favorite both on and off the pitch.
Speaking on Sky Sports earlier this week, Belgium national team assistant manager Thierry Henry was questioned on Salah’s incredible form since moving to Merseyside in the summer, with the former Barcelona man discussing the impact of the former Chelsea winger compared to that of Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho in his debut campaign for the Reds, he also revealed why Liverpool fans can only be happy.
‘I like his movement, he always wants to go in behind.’
There’s no step-overs, there’s no trying to nutmeg, there’s no skills for no reason.’
‘He’s going at you, if you’re ready or not that’s your problem.’
‘I said at the beginning, I predicted that he can be as efficient as Coutinho.’
‘He has been more efficient than Coutinho in his first season. So we will see how far he’s going to go with that.’
‘Listen, if you’re a Liverpool fan and you have (Roberto) Firmino, Salah, (Sadio) Mane, you can only be happy.
