Ander Herrera was full of praise for Alexis Sanchez after his debut match against Yeovil Town, he is Manchester United’s first line of defence with brilliant determination and work rate, according to the Ander the Spaniard.
The former Athletic Bilbao midfielder played with Sanchez for the first time in the 29-year-old’s debut for United on Friday night as Man United comfortably saw off the League Two side Yeovil Town in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
Goals from Manchester United rising star Marcus Rashford, Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku gave United a much deserve the win at Huish Park, and Sanchez was named Man of the Match for his quality and astute display as he grabbed an assist.
Herrera said he was thoroughly excited by Sanchez’s work ethic.
“What I really like from him is the way he fights when the team loses the ball,” Herrera told the club’s official television channel, MUTV. “He’s always ready to defend for the team from the front, and that’s big for us.
“Obviously we know his quality on the ball, he’s amazing, but his fight, the way he defends, he’s the first player to defend – I really like it.”
Sanchez’s drive is one of his best qualities, he is also a winner, he has a winning mentality. Hopefully, his drive and hunger to win rubs off on the rest of the squad, which is relatively young.
The key players here, Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku are under the age of 25, while there’s also a fantastic set of young players in players in Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw.
