The Argentine all-time scorer Lionel Messi spoke about Real Madrid crisis and how Barcelona adapted to Neymar’s departure to Paris Saint Germain.

Barcelona are in terrific form so far this season and it seems they are headed for the treble this season judging by their performance, the Catalan team needs to be exceptional if they are going to achieve that goal, Barcelona would be hoping to replicate their League form when they meet Chelsea in their Champions League Round of 16 match on 20th February 2018.

Speaking in an interview with World Soccer, Lionel Messi discussed lots of topics, which include teams Barcelona have to avoid if they want to win UEFA Champions League title, it’s surprising that Messi doesn’t see the Blues as a threat.

”Right now, Manchester City and PSG are the biggest threats, Manchester City is one of the strongest sides in Europe and same can be said about the French team, but I wouldn’t rule out Real Madrid given their quality and experience,” Messi stated

Messi had positive words for Real Madrid, he believes it won’t be long before Real Madrid comes back to their best form.

”it’s temporary, it’s not the first time we’ve seen such a scenario at Real Madrid, I’m sure that in the end, they will battle for every possible trophy, they have a great team loaded with talented players. they’ve always found a way to be there,” the Argentine added.

Lionel Messi also analyzed how Barcelona had to change tactics because of Neymar’s departure, he insisted that the Brazilian move to Paris Saint Germain made the Los Blaugranas better defensively.

”His departure forced us to adapt to new tactics, we lost a lot of offensive ‘punch’, but it made us focus on our defence, we have a lot of options in the midfield, we’re more balanced and that makes us, even more, harder to beat in defense,” Messi concluded.
